We are Cazir, carefully and sustainably curated vintage rugs from Turkey, reimagined into new designs. Throughout the years, we have been collecting vintage rugs and are thrilled to share this art form with you and into your home. Based in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado, we value interior design and high quality materials found right here in our community. We have a background in marketing and logistics and have combined our appreciation of our family’s culture to create our shop. In fact, every piece in our collection has been redesigned by Can, using fine materials to bring a new life to vintage Turkish rugs.

Our outlook on vintage rugs is simple, it is a part of our heritage and carries a piece of history. We believe that every space should be filled with heirloom pieces that last. Following our family’s tradition of organic and locally sourced materials, we created Cazir at an attainable and transparent price point to reach a greater audience.

As timeless as our pieces are, the impact our products make is the best part. We started Cazir with the need of fighting the pattern of consumption at home. There seems to be trends and new decor pieces every way you turn. These mass-produced home decor items have a grim effect on not only our spaces but the world around us.
Around 4 billion pounds of rug materials end up in landfills every year and 94% of rugs in people’s homes are made up by synthetic fibers like plastic - taking hundreds of years to degrade in a landfill, while leaking dangerous chemicals and pollunts in the process. From an an environmental standpoint, it is best to buy rugs made of natural fibers and to repurpose these rugs as much as we can. When it comes to redesigning and even to our packaging, we use recycled and biodegradable materials as much as possible. With our pieces, you can shop in a more ethical way and reduce your overall waste footprint.
Why Cazir
We made it our mission to carry these values when creating Cazir. Our collection is a true form of preservation and admiration. Each rug tells the story of its origins and out-stands the test of time. When becoming a family, we merged our Latin and Turkish cultures and didn’t shy away from this when choosing our name. The name Cazir is a mesh of both our native languages. It reminds us of the Spanish and Turkish words for home, and is a representation of who we are and where we are going.
